The Power Of Love Part 2

Whenever I hear about love it’s almost exclusively romantic love.  Romantic love is great, but that’s not the one that “makes the world go round”, and that’s not the one that “the world needs now” (Dionne Warwick, 1967).  We need much more of the “love your neighbor as yourself” (Jesus) kind of love.

I went to a large warehouse store after dropping off the kids this morning.  I’m not supposed to swear,.. but i swear at 2 different times, 2 unlikely looking, random people shot me the brightest, warmest smiles. Both times it felt like a gift. It felt like love. (corny, but true)

I started to think about love.  The scope and wonderful power of it.  I ended up thinking I’m not that great at showing it.  You know what?  I’ll try harder.  It’s that simple. Commitment and action.

Will you share stories of ways/times that you’ve felt love from a stranger and/or times that you have shown love to a stranger?

Please. Inspire me.

If you have a chance, listen to Roberta Flack sing “In the Name of Love” on you tube.  I love the first line, “people try to create feelings just the same as love, in the name of love”.

  2. Ѕome truly superb artіcles on thіs internet site, thanks for cօntribution. “There is one universal gesture that has one universal message–a smile” byy Valeriе Sokolosky.

  3. I do feel lots of love from various folks around town on a regular basis. I tend to frequently go to the same restaurants and bars for lunch and happy hour and over time, I’ve become friendly with staff in those places. Sometimes we share personal stories, and we laugh together like friends. They often give me complimentary food and drinks. It feels good to know there’s a strong level of love there.
